Hi all,
well, I called hp tech support today, and he told me I could uninstall hp organize, and updates from hp. Well, I did that, and restarted my computer. After getting off the phone, I left the computer running for a while. It goes in to stand by mode if left unattended for a while. When I was connecting to my isp, there was no dialing sound, or modem noise. Some people might think modem noise is just a lot of racket, but I feel more secure and reassured to hear it just the same. when the computer restarted after being in standby mode, there is a window that says, modem on hold timer. It's after I close that window, that I don't hear the modem connecting. I found out, that the modem wasn't in the system tray. That modem on hold window comes up now when I restart the computer. As long as the modem on hold thingy is up, the modem is in the system tray as usual, but when I exit it, it's not in the system tray anymore. What do I do to keep the modem in the system tray as normal without that modem on hold timer coming up?
Thanks,
wonderwoman
